There are two types of Family Readiness Volunteers for MSOSG:
Family Readiness Assistants
- They work with the FRO to manage information flow between the command leadership and the families.
- They monitor family readiness issues within their assigned areas of responsibility.
- They are appointed for a year by the Commanding Officer and must complete a eight hour training course provided by the Marine Corps Family Team Building staff.
- The MSOSG FRO can further discuss the responsibilities of these volunteers with you.
Event Volunteers
- Assists the FRO temporarily with a specific single event.
- For example, if you would like to help plan the annual Holiday Party or you would like to be involved in just one activity, such as decorating the facility, assisting with children activities, you would then serve as a volunteer for just that event.
- You would not be expected to help with other events unless you volunteered again.
To volunteer for either position described above, contact the MSOSG FRO at (910) 440-0792 or by email at M_MARSOC_MSOSG_FRO_GD01@USMC.MIL.
