The new Charles Luke Milam Clinic was officially dedicated to HM2 Charles “Luke” Milam, a special amphibious reconnaissance corpsman, during a dedication ceremony on March 12, at the U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Special Operations Command headquarters building. Milam was killed in action in the Helmand, Province, Afghanistan on Sept. 25, 2007, during a deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom with 2d Marine Special Operations Battalion.
