How to Prepare for MEODL-I

You will be expected to arrive with a foundational knowledge of the following 60 series publications and Marine Corps Orders upon arrival, as they form the basis for several periods of instruction throughout the course.

    - Hook and Line

    - Multi-meter

• Basic Electronics

    - Component identification (and understanding of functionality)/circuit interpretation (Radiographic)

    - Basic calculations in electronic circuitry

• Demolition Procedures

    - Time Fuse Calculations

    - N.E.W. calculations/conversions (ALWAYS in TNT Eq)

    - Minimum Safe Distances/K-Factors

• Ordnance Identification

    - Estimated N.E.W. on caches (to include HME containers)

• Homemade Explosives

    - Precursor recognition

•  Orders/Publications/Directives

    - An understanding of what dictates your necessity to act, justification to not act, and the appropriate considerations when you do act

• Photography/Reporting

    - Know how to take pictures for reporting

    - How to utilize Microsoft applications i.e. PowerPoint,  for post mission products
