Housing Application Information

IN PERSON:  Applications for on-Base housing are accepted from 0730 - 1530, Monday thru Friday, at the Military Housing Office (MHO), Building TT-43 Inchon Street, Tarawa Terrace.

In the absence of the service member, the spouse may apply with a Power of Attorney (POA) and documentation proving the service member is attached to Camp Lejeune/New River for duty.  Note:  A Special Power of Attorney (SPOA) is required for Lease signing.  Information and downloadable forms are provided by the MCB Staff Judge Advocate at http://go.usa.gov/YNte.

ADVANCE APPLICATION:  An advance application may be submitted to the MHO at any time, provided the service member is/will be attached to Camp Lejeune/MCASNR for duty.

The MHO will use the date of receipt of a complete application package; to include all qualifying documents and Permanent Change of Station Orders (PCSO), as the Control Date for the MHO Wait List.

Qualifying documents include the Application for Assignment to Housing (DD Form 1746), Privacy Act Release Form, Statement of Understanding, Sex Offender Policy Acknowledgement & Disclosure, Pet Registration Addendum (whether or not you have pets).  All forms can be found under the Required Documents tab on the site referenced above.  If documents are received separately, the Control Date will be established upon receipt of the latest document.

ATLANTIC MARINE CORPS COMMUNITIES (AMCC):  Once a complete application package has been received and a Control Date assigned, your application will be referred to AMCC for action.  Note:  The service member must be detached from his/her previous Command prior to assignment.

LINCOLN MILITARY HOUSING (LMH)-HEROES MANOR (HM):  Once a complete application package has been received and a Control Date assigned, you will be placed on the Inactive Wait List.  Your application will be kept in an inactive status until you have reported in to your Command and provided your reporting-in endorsement to the MHO.

INACTIVE WAITING LIST.  If you will not be able to accept housing, you may want to place your application inactive.  Your name will be removed from the waiting list and held in a separate file until the end of the time period you specify.  Your Control Date will remain the same.

CANCELLATION OF APPLICATION.  It is your responsibility to keep your application current.  If we cannot find you, your application will be cancelled.  Please notify us if your contact information changes.

Family Housing

The Military Housing Office (MHO) at Camp Lejeune oversees more than 5,000 privatized housing units.  The Public-Private Venture (PPV) Partners are Atlantic Marine Corps Communities, LLC, and Lincoln Military Housing.  The MHO is responsible for validating applicants and for providing referrals to the PPV Partners for on-Base privatized military housing.    

There are housing areas located in twelve geographical locations at Camp Lejeune/ Marine Corps Air Station, New River (MCASNR).  The bedroom and rank designations are as follows:

  • Berkeley Manor = 659 housing units.  In this neighborhood, there are 233 three-bedroom and 93 four-bedroom housing units designated for enlisted personnel; there are 235 three-bedroom and 98 four-bedroom housing units designated for senior enlisted personnel. 
  • Courthouse Bay = 8 housing units.  All eight are three-bedroom housing units designated for field grade officer personnel.
  • Heroes Manor =   560 housing units.  In this neighborhood, there are 419 three-bedroom and 141 four bedroom housing units designated for enlisted personnel.
  • Hospital Point = 18 housing units.  All 18 are three-bedroom housing units designated for company grade officer personnel.
  • Knox Cove = 80 housing units.  All 80 are four-bedroom housing units designated for senior enlisted personnel (E8/E9 only).
  • Knox Landing = 186 housing units.  In this neighborhood, there are 99 three-bedroom and 87 four-bedroom housing units.  These housing units are designated for senior enlisted personnel.
  • MCASNR = 349 housing units.  In McCutcheon Manor, there are 156 three-bedroom and 32 four-bedroom housing units designated for enlisted personnel; there are 56 three-bedroom 16 four-bedroom housing united designated for senior enlisted personnel.  In Peterfield Point, there are 57 three-bedroom and 19 four-bedroom housing units designated for company grade officer personnel; there are four three-bedroom and six four-bedroom housing units designated for field grade officer personnel; there are three four-bedroom homes designated for senior grade officer personnel.
  • Midway Park = 698 housing units.  In this neighborhood, there are 161 two-bedroom, 516 three-bedroom and 21 four-bedroom housing units.  These housing units are designated for enlisted personnel.
  • Paradise Point = 511 housing units.  In this neighborhood, there are 266 three-bedroom and 26 four-bedroom housing units designated for company grade officer personnel; there are 150 three-bedroom and 11 four-bedroom housing units designated for field grade officer personnel; there are 51 three-bedroom housing units designated for senior grade officer personnel; there are seven four-bedroom housing units designated for general grade officer personnel. 
  • Tarawa Terrace = 1687 housing units.   In this neighborhood, there are 544 two-bedroom, 1061 three-bedroom and 82 four-bedroom housing units designated for enlisted personnel.
  • Watkins Grove = 136 housing units.  In this neighborhood, there are 69 three-bedroom and 67 four-bedroom housing units designated for senior enlisted personnel.
  • Watkins Village = 312 housing units. In this neighborhood, there are 38 three-bedroom and 148 four-bedroom housing units designated for enlisted personnel; there are 26 three-bedroom and 100 four-bedroom housing units designated for senior enlisted personnel.

Off-Base Housing:

Stone Bay, Camp Lejeune has several communities many families have settled in and call home. Below is a list of cities to help in your search for realtors, home rentals, or buying options.

  • Sneads Ferry: approximate 5-10 min commute
  • Holly Ridge: approximate 15-20 min commute
  • Surf City: approximate 20-30 min commute
  • Topsail Beach: approximate 30 min commute
  • Hampstead: approximate 30 min commute
  • Wilmington: approximate 45 min - 1 hour commute
  • Jacksonville: approximate 30 min commute
  • Swansboro: approximate 45 min commute

Temporary Lodging/Inns of the Corps - Lejeune

The Inns of the Corps - Lejeune, consisting of 90 units, provides many amenities for military personnel and their families arriving in this area.

The Inn is centrally located near a variety of snack bars, the main Exchange, banks and the Commissary.  Each room has a kitchenette and is stylishly appointed for the comfort and convenience of its guests.

Reservations are strongly recommended.  Those not in PCS status may reserve rooms up to 21 days in advance.  Those in a PCS status may reserve rooms up to 30 days in advance and must provide a copy of their orders.  The Inn does not allow pets.
